Guardian Homes
Join Our Extended Family
Our breeding dogs are family. To provide every Bernedoodle, Bernese, Poodle, and Cavapoo in our program the rich, full, love-filled life they deserve, we partner with amazing Guardian Families. A Guardian Home receives one of our breeding dogs to raise as their own, enjoying all the joy of a family companion while helping us preserve and improve these special breeds and our program.

What is a Guardian Home?
A Guardian Home is a family that partners with us by raising and loving one of our breeding dogs as their own.
It is our belief dogs should not spend their lives confined to a kennel. Instead, we place our breeding prospects in approved homes where they can live full, happy, everyday family lives.
This allows us to maintain a diverse, healthy breeding program while ensuring every dog gets the individual attention, training, and affection they deserve.

What Becoming a Guardian Family Looks Like
A Guardian Family welcomes a puppy, or occasionally a young adult dog, into their home and provides all the love, training, and day-to-day care of a typical pet owner. We handle all breeding-related costs, while Guardian Families cover regular pet ownership expenses like food, grooming, and routine veterinary care.
For Females in our program:
When a female reaches breeding age and has completed all health and genetic testing, she will come back to our home for breeding and again approximately one week before her due date. She stays with us for whelping, raising, and weaning her puppies (typically around 7 weeks) then she returns to her Guardian Family to continue her normal family life.
For Males in our program:
Male guardians are used as needed and usually only stay with us for short visits, if they stay at all. Because stud work depends on timing and ovulation, males may be asked to come on short notice.
Requirements for Guardian Homes
Must live within a reasonable distance of Waukesha, WI (or our vet partners in Lomira, WI).
Must have a physically fenced yard for safety and responsible management.
Are responsible for transporting the dog to us when needed (we’re always happy to help with pickups if possible).
Must be committed to crate training, basic manners, and raising a confident, well-rounded dog.
Should be comfortable sending us photos, videos, and updates: Your dog is part of our program, and we love sharing their journey. Learn about one Guardian Family's special story here: "Our Tale of One Poodle"
When your guardian dog stays with us, we provide regular photo and video updates so you always feel connected.
One favorite perk? Guardian Families are invited to visit and snuggle their dog’s puppies before they go home: A magical experience, especially for families with children.
A True Partnership
Our Guardian Homes become an extension of our program and our hearts. Many turn into close friends and long-term partners in raising the next generation of exceptional Bernedoodles, Poodles, and Cavapoos.
You receive a carefully selected breeding prospect to love as your own, and we gain the peace of mind that comes from knowing our dogs are living their best possible life.
When your guardian dog retires from our program, full ownership is transferred to you.
