Joy’s story with her guardian family is one that still feels a little miraculous. Her family had long believed that having a dog simply was not possible. Allergies, a busy life caring for a child with special needs, limited time, and the realities of single parenthood all seemed like barriers that could not be overcome.

Then one day, after a chance conversation at a local playground and a leap of faith in reaching out to Bernedoodle Boutique, everything changed.

Joy joined their family through our guardianship program after a thoughtful conversation about what kind of dog would truly fit their unique situation. Her gentle, cautious nature, affectionate personality, and allergy-friendly coat made her an ideal match. What began as a trial quickly became something much more meaningful.

Today, Joy is exactly what her name suggests. She is a constant companion, a comfort to her family, and a steady presence in a home that once believed a dog could never be part of their story.
